2005
The
primary purpose of the Forest Hills Educational Foundation is to provide funds
for creative and unique programs and activities that promote academic
excellence and are beyond normal school budgetary and operational functions. The Foundation’s policy is to award grants
only for programs and activities that can be directly or indirectly identified
as part of, or related to, school curriculum.
The Foundation looks most favorably upon grant requests that would
impact the greatest number of students and integrate disciplines or curricular
areas.
The
deadline for grant applications is May 6, 2005.
Grant requests will be considered at the following Foundation Board
meetings in May. (Grants approved at the
May Board meeting will be for the 2005/2006 school year.)
The Board will evaluate each
grant request based upon all facts and circumstances, including the following
guidelines:
1. Does the grant have the potential to impact more than one
(1) classroom?
2. If the grant is for technology, does it primarily fund
software, materials and training, for hardware?
3. If the grant is approved as written, would there be a
disproportionate distribution of grant awards (via buildings, programs, etc.)?
4. Are there alternative sources of funding for the grant
request (i.e.: PTO, Cultural Arts and/or building funds)?
5. Is the grant request to continue funding of an existing
program?
6. Is the grant request for a new or start up program?
7. Does the grant fund the expansion (duplication) of a
successful program to other grades and/or buildings?
8. Programs will not be funded retroactively.
Based on this review, the
Foundation will take one of three actions:
1.
Approve
the application for full or partial funding.
2.
Return
the application with suggestions for resubmitting.
3.
Deny
the request.
An application form is
attached. Please address the criteria
noted above in your application.
